PDF Metadata Editor lets you view and change a PDF's document properties -- title, author, subject and keywords -- the fields most PDF readers show under "Document Properties" or "File Info".
This is useful for cleaning up files before sharing, adding proper attribution, or fixing an auto-generated title. Everything is edited locally and nothing is uploaded.
How to Use the PDF Metadata Editor
- Open the PDF Metadata Editor tool.
- Choose your PDF file to load its current metadata.
- Edit the Title, Author, Subject and Keywords fields.
- Click Save PDF with Updated Metadata.
- Your updated PDF downloads automatically.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does editing metadata change the visible content of the PDF?
No -- metadata is separate from the page content. Editing it only changes the document properties shown in file info panels, not anything printed or displayed on the pages themselves.
What should I put in Keywords?
A comma-separated list of terms relevant to the document, useful for search and organization in some PDF management tools.
Will this remove metadata added by the software that created the PDF?
It updates the Title, Author, Subject, Keywords and modification date fields you edit -- other metadata like Creator/Producer software info is left as-is.
