Every word is chosen using the Web Crypto API's cryptographically secure random number generator, entirely in your browser.
How to Use the Passphrase Generator

- Choose how many words, a separator, and whether to add a number.
- Click Generate.
- Copy your new passphrase.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this more secure than a random character password?
A passphrase with enough random words can be very strong while being much easier to type and remember. More words means more security -- 4 to 6 words is a common recommendation.
Is the randomness cryptographically secure?
Yes, it uses crypto.getRandomValues(), the same secure randomness source used elsewhere on this site for keys and passwords.
